It was a fierce afternoon of running for our Year 7-12s at the IGSSA Cross Country Carnival. Every girl gave their 100% effort, and St Hilda’s was excited to secure the win.

This was a ‘3-peat’ win for St Hilda’s for IGSSA Cross Country, with wins in 2018, 2019, 2021 (No official winner in 2020 due to COVID-19).

Winning the IGSSA Cross Country carnival is no easy feat, and our girls trained very hard over Term 2. Collectively, the students per year group attended the following number of sessions:

  • Year 7: 183
  • Year 8: 266
  • Year 9: 168
  • Year 10: 234
  • Year 11: 93
  • Year 12: 116

The minimum number of students at a session was 36, and the maximum 88. On average, there were 65 students attending each session, which is a fantastic result!

Thank you to the PE Department and the staff who trained with our girls throughout Term 2. We’d also like to send our congratulations to the other schools who were fantastic competitors on the day. The IGSSA Carnivals are a fantastic way to bring the different girls schools together, and demonstrate the vast talent of all the students.
