At St Hilda’s, we are thrilled to offer some of our Year 10-12 students an exceptional opportunity to complete university-level units at Curtin University. This unique program, the Curtin Rising Scholars initiative, allows our students to challenge themselves academically and gain a head start on their higher education journey.
In 2024, we celebrated the remarkable achievements of our students who participated in this program. An impressive nine students completed first-year university units while still in Senior School. Their dedication and hard work have paid off, with three students achieving high distinctions, scoring an impressive 80% or above. Among them, Jessica from Year 11 stood out with an outstanding score of 90%+, earning her the prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Commendation for Rising Scholars.
This program is uniquely beneficial for our students at St Hilda’s. It provides them with a rigorous academic challenge and fosters a sense of independence and confidence as they navigate university-level coursework. The experience prepares them for the demands of higher education and beyond, equipping them with skills and knowledge that will serve them well in their future endeavours.
