CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY
This year St Hilda’s is celebrating an important anniversary – 125 years since Miss Ross opened her house to students in Claremont in 1896.
As one of the oldest girls’ schools in Western Australia St Hilda’s has helped shape the future of over 10,000 students and is an important part of our State’s history.
Share this wonderful celebration with us as we reflect on our rich history and look forward to a vibrant future as an innovative leader in girls’ education.
This community event has been planned to connect people to the School and to celebrate our achievements. We’d love everyone to support the year, either through purchasing some merchandise, participating in events or volunteering their time.

PRESERVING OUR HISTORY
The history of a school is one of its most valuable assets. We need to cherish and celebrate it.
The Heritage Centre project was launched late last year to raise funds to create a museum and interactive archive in Hope Nicholas House. As one of the original buildings on the property when it was purchased in 1930, Hope Nicholas House is a natural home for our precious artifacts, publications and memories.
The Heritage Centre will share the stories of our students, their families and our staff across 125 years. It will be designed to engage our students, supporting their understanding of their place in our history. We hope to make it a unique backdrop to Old Scholar functions and provide a valuable facility for school events.
To refurbish and fit out this remarkable historic building, we are raising funds this year through donations from the community and sales of 125th merchandise.
