Our Year 12 students had an unforgettable 2025 Japan Ski Tour during the final weeks of their summer break. Sixty students and six staff members embarked on this exciting adventure, filled with thrilling activities and cultural experiences.

The tour started with a bang, with the girls visiting Tokyo Disneyland, the Skytower, and the Meiji Shrine. The students spent the following days in the picturesque Hakuba, where they honed their skiing and snowboarding skills. Immersing in Japanese culture, the students also tried a variety of new dishes and enjoyed a traditional drumming show, which was a captivating experience!

This unique cocurricular experience, organised by our Outdoor Education team, marked a fantastic start to their Year 12 journey together.

We spoke with Angelie (Year 12), about her experience. This is what she had to say,

“The Japan Snow Tour was such a memorable and incredible experience. I strengthened my friendships in many ways, whether playing cards with my friends at night before dinner or laughing when I fell on the slopes, knowing they’d be there to help me back up. I was immersed in Japanese culture, trying amazing foods like miso soup and udon noodles. One of the highlights was watching the taiko drumming—it was such a lively and unforgettable moment, with everyone laughing, clapping, and getting into the rhythm.”

At St Hilda’s, we believe education extends far beyond the confines of the four walls of the classroom. We’re passionate about our incredible cocurricular programs, which offer diverse activities to enrich all students’ experiences, foster personal growth, and cultivate a vibrant community spirit where every girl belongs.
