CORAL BAY MARINE PROGRAM (YEARS 8 AND 9)
In the 2020 April school holidays the St Hilda’s Outdoor Education Department will be offering a Marine activities program in Coral Bay. This will be the 13th year we have run this extremely popular trip, which is facilitated by Ningaloo Reef Adventure Camp
Situated 1200 kilometres north of Perth on WA's mid-west coast and stretching over 240kms, Ningaloo Reef is one of the world’s longest fringing coral reef systems and an amazing opportunity for students to experience a true wonder of the natural world.
Students will be introduced to intermediate snorkelling skills and techniques, discuss the ecology of the reef with marine biologists and have the opportunity to swim with whale sharks, turtles and manta rays.

Cost
The trip cost is $1950 and includes
- Return flights with Qantas and transfers from Exmouth to Coral Bay
- All meals
- All day private charter boat & Whale Shark swim(s)
- All snorkelling equipment, including wetsuits. (students are welcome to bring their own)
- Underwater Scooter Snorkel Tour, Stand up Paddling and Aqua Rush Tour
- Private charter boat & Manta Ray swim(s)
Location & Accommodation:
The group of 18 students and two staff will stay within the private grounds of NRAC. St Hilda’s will have exclusive use and no members of the public have access to the area.
Students will stay in 6 person canvas tents surrounding a central lawn and undercover kitchen and dining area.
Students will sleep on mattresses within the tents.
Students have their own private ablution facilities.

Transport
Return flights Perth to Learmonth airport Exmouth are with Qantas. Transfers to Coral Bay are with Coral Bay Airport Transfers.
Medical Information
Medical details for students will be taken from the student records data base. If your daughter’s medical history has recently changed, please email central.file@sthildas.wa.edu.au
If your daughter is on any prescribed medications, please clearly label them with all relevant details and hand them to travelling staff on departure.
It is NOT recommended that your daughter bring over the counter medication. These may include paracetamol, antihistamines, anti-inflammatories, ibuprofen etc. We need to be aware of all and any medication given to students in our care. The Outdoor Ed staff member attending has wilderness first aid qualifications and there is a Silver Chain nurse in Coral Bay.
Staffing
Two St Hilda’s staff members will accompany the students during the trip. Additional adults will join the group during specific activities, such as the Whale Shark swim.
Food
All meals will be provided and catered by NRAC. Students will have the opportunity to visit the local shops each day.
