Denmark Surf Trip
The Outdoor Education Department is excited to offer students in Years 8-12 a surfing focused trip to Denmark from Thursday August 17 – Monday August 21, 2017.
The five-day program is predominantly filled with surfing, with the possibility of the famous Tree Top Walk in Walpole and exploration of many other wonders of this area. Accommodation is at The Cove Chalets. The charming wooden bunkhouse is situated amongst native karri, tingle and jarrah forest on the edge of Wilson Inlet, only minutes from Denmark town and the beach.
To attend this trip, girls must be surfing at an intermediate level. As with all of our surfing programs, the lessons cover a variety of aspects including beach and water safety, surfing technique, wave selection and individual improvements. We use a variety of learner to advanced boards and it is compulsory for all students to wear surfing specific helmets.
The trip will cost $600 inclusive of surf board hire, helmets, wetsuits, food, accommodation, activities, and all lessons from qualified coaches. It is suggested girls bring a small amount of spending money for snacks en route to and from Denmark and the possibility of a small amount of shopping if the weather is bad. Please note all bed linen is provided and girls do not need to bring a sleeping bag.
Please note that there is a minimum number of 10 students required to run this trip.
Students who the Outdoor Education Department assess to be surfing at an appropriate level will be emailed an invitation in Term 2.
