About Alexis Barton (Hopkins, 2002)

Alexis graduated from St Hilda’s in 2002 and completed at BSc at the University of WA. She then completed a Bachelor of Law at Notre Dame University and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor in April 2012. During her tertiary studies, she was lucky enough to travel the world and lived in both the UK and the USA.

During her maternity leave, Alexis ran an election campaign and was elected as a Councillor for the City of Perth Council. She was lucky enough to be involved in the decision making for big infrastructure developments and other projects to drive the economic activity and growth for the City, and she was also given the opportunity to open major public events and facilitated culture change within the Council.

She re-entered the profession in 2020 and now works as a Senior Associate for an insurance law firm in East Perth, DWL Legal, specialising in worker’s compensation, motor vehicle claims, public liability, and general insurance jurisdiction.
