About Ariane Platell (2007)
Ariane is the Chief Operating Officer of QL Space, an innovative Earth observation space startup. She is passionate about transforming Australia’s burgeoning space sector and has been invited to speak at the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, World Health Organisation and the International Astronautical Federation. Ariane was also named a start-up finalist in the 2023 Australian Space Awards.
Upon leaving St Hilda’s in 2007, Ariane completed her BA(Hons) Philosophy at the University of London. She worked in London for several years as a political lobbyist and then in strategy for Mail Newspapers, covering the Daily Mail, Mail on Sunday and London Evening Standard.
Upon moving back to Perth she joined QL Space, received a scholarship to study with the International Space University, and served as an industry mentor at UWA and RMIT.
