Coeducational Opportunities

Coeducational experiences outside the classroom

We partner with a number of independent boys’ schools to create meaningful opportunities to mix, relate and learn. Our coeducational experiences offer students a range of activities designed to broaden horizons and foster essential life skills.

The Importance of Coeducational Opportunities

While research shows that girls excel in single-sex environments, St Hilda’s recognises the importance of preparing students for the realities of the world beyond academia. Coeducational activities provide invaluable opportunities for students to develop vital social and interpersonal skills, build lasting friendships, and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity. These experiences not only enrich their educational journey but also equip them with the adaptability and resilience needed to thrive in an interconnected global community. Learning Life Skills

From the culinary delights of Foodie Fiesta to the artistry of swing dancing or discipline of cadets, our coeducational activities are as diverse as they are engaging. Students embark on outdoor education adventures, participate in joint workshops, and immerse themselves in cultural exchanges, all while cultivating teamwork, communication, and mutual respect.

IGNITE Program

Our collaborative Year 4 and 5 Ignite Program with Scotch College sees girls and boys working together and building leadership skills in a series of workshops, activities, and projects designed to nurture various aspects of self-growth and leadership. This program aims to instill confidence and empathy and empowers students to become effective leaders by prioritising teamwork, problem-solving, and mutual respect.

Cape to Cave

Year 8 students partner with Christ Church Grammar School in the Cape to Cave Outdoor Education experience, introducing students to a range of physical, social and cultural activities designed to build confidence and appreciation for the environment. Using Leeuwin-Naturalist National Park as a base, the student will spend five days walking part of the Cape to Cape, pitching tents, cooking their own meals and learning about local indigenous culture.

Rowing Partnership

St Hilda’s and Scotch College have forged a partnership, relocating St Hilda’s Rowing Program to the Scotch Boat Shed on Freshwater Bay. Our partnership with Scotch guarantees ample training opportunities close to campus, strengthening our strong 40-year rowing legacy and equipping students for future endeavours beyond St Hilda’s.

Wandering Spirit

A specially designed program, forming part of our Year 9 Wandering Spirit Program and Hale’s Character Education Connect program, that supports both girls and boys in building deeper connections with others and exploring their identity, strengths and character.

Combined Concert

St Hilda’s and Christ Church Grammar School unite on stage in the annual Combined Concert, a collaborative musical extravaganza. Since its inception in 1988, this annual tradition has provided a platform for our students to cultivate confidence, refine skills, and foster friendships.

Why St Hilda's

At St Hilda’s, we believe in empowering our students to embrace collaboration, develop essential life skills, and flourish in every aspect of their lives.
