Situated 3.5 hours from Perth, in the heart of Western Australia’s South West Region in Pemberton is our beautiful Yeagarup campus. The 7.4 hectare property features both chalet and dormitory style accommodation for up to 120 students. This will allow us to take whole of year cohorts from Years 5 upwards. Next to the dormitories, a large campground will be available for the younger students as they learn essential outdoor education skills. Other facilities include an undercover camp kitchen, covered pergola and activity hub, which will give the girls access to undercover cooking facilities, including barbeques, a pizza oven and a large indoor recreation hall. A solar power system, two new large potable water tanks and a state of the art sewage treatment system enhance the sustainability credentials on the site. A 950sqm campground will give the younger students the opportunity to master camping skills before progressing to more remote camping in the area as part of their senior years.
Outdoor learning is one of the cornerstones of our cocurricular programs at St Hilda’s. Providing the girls with the opportunity to extend and challenge themselves, away from family and in a natural setting, is an important learning that they will take with them for the rest of their lives.
Our Year 9 Wandering Spirit nine-day retreat is held here along with outdoor education experiences as an extension of our wellbeing curriculum and cocurricular programs.
