As we wrap up another remarkable term and year at St Hilda’s, we pause to consider the joy, education, and affection that permeated our school corridors. From the excitement in the science labs, and the melodies in the music room, to the performances in the Performing Arts Centre, every nook of our school was vibrant with our students’ endeavours.

This term, our students nurtured their creativity and imagination, pushing their minds to new heights.

West Australian Junior Mathematics Competition — It was a day of intense brainpower and mathematical brilliance as young minds across Western Australia gathered for the West Australian Junior Mathematics Competition.

Year 11 Biology Camp — Our Year 11 Biology students had an unforgettable adventure at Dryandra Woodlands! They spent two nights in cosy cottages at the Lions Village, completing hands-on fieldwork. Highlights included a night visit to Barna Mia to view native marsupials in their natural habitat, vegetation surveys, mammal trapping with DPAW, and mist-netting birds. 

JK – Year 12 Art Exhibition – This term we held our Junior Kindergarten to Year 12 Student Art Exhibition, a kaleidoscope of innovation, passion, and imagination. Every piece told a story, from vibrant canvases that lept with life to thought-provoking portraits that challenge perceptions. 

Design and Technology Fashion Parade – The St Hilda’s Fashion Parade was a fantastic night. It showcased the incredible work of our Year 9-12 Materials Design and Technology students. From stylish hoodies and fun pyjama sets to elegant evening wear and stunning Chanel-inspired gowns, the students brought creativity and skill to every piece. 

Year 6 Tournament of Minds Finals – Our Year 6 team showcased their brilliance this term at the International Final of Tournament of Minds in Sydney! Every moment, from the early morning nerves to the late afternoon celebrations, was filled with creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. Our girls were phenomenal, displaying their talents and intellect with such grace and determination. We are beyond proud that they won the International Runners Up Honours Award, being the only team in WA to place. This is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and incredible support from their coaches, families, and friends.

Year 5 IGNITE Awards Presentation with Scotch – To foster leadership skills and coeducational collaborative growth, the Year 5 students from Scotch College and St Hilda’s came together for the Ignite Awards Presentation Ceremony. This program aims to instil leadership qualities in young students and equip them with the tools they need to become confident, empathetic and effective leaders. The Ignite Award collaboration has been a testament to the power of teamwork, open-mindedness, and mutual respect, fostering meaningful relationships and nurturing our future leaders.

Year 10 UWA Immersion Day —This term was exciting for our Year 10 students as they embarked on a University Immersion experience at the University of Western Australia. It was a chance for them to step into the world of higher education, explore different disciplines, and envision their future academic journeys. This unique opportunity allowed our girls to experience university life firsthand, from the vibrant campus atmosphere to the academic rigour of university courses. It was a day filled with learning, inspiration, 

Year 10 Work Experience —In Term 4, our Year 10 students stepped out of the classroom and into the real world with our work experience program. It allowed the girls to explore different industries, gain valuable insights, and discover potential career paths. The experience was enriching and eye-opening, showcasing our girls’ skills, enthusiasm, and adaptability. From shadowing professionals in law firms to assisting teachers in schools and creative agencies, they confidently embraced every challenge.

Year 11 PE Studies ATAR Fremantle Excursion — Our Year 11 PE Studies ATAR students undertook an exciting excursion at the Fremantle Club this Term. From analysing game strategies to engaging in friendly competitions, our students got hands-on experience that went beyond the textbooks.

IGSSA Year 10 Softball, Tennis and Water Polo — In Term 4, we saw an exhilarating display of skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship at the IGSSA Year 10 – 12 Softball, Tennis and Water Polo events! 

Year 4-6 JIGSSA Athletics Carnival —The spirit of competition and sportsmanship were high at the Year 4-6 JIGSSA Athletics Carnival. Every jump, throw, and sprint was a testament to hard work and determination. 

Year 3 Summer Games —The sun shone brightly as our Year 3 students gathered excitedly for the much-anticipated Summer Games Day. It was a day filled with laughter, cheers, and the spirit of friendly competition. As the day ended, it was clear that every girl was a winner. They had shown their best, supported their peers, and embodied the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Year 7-12 IGSSA Tennis – We celebrated extraordinary IGSSA Tennis results at St Hilda’s this Term. On the back of the recent Year 10-12 tennis results

This was followed by our Year 7-9 girls finishing with a clean sweep at the IGSSA Tennis competition, winning first place in every division – an unprecedented victory! Their skill, determination, and team spirit were unmatched. Huge congratulations to our champions!

Year 5 Summer Games — This term, our Year 5 students gathered excitedly for the much-anticipated Summer Games Day at St Hilda’s. The atmosphere was electric, with supporters cheering on the sidelines, creating an unforgettable unity and encouragement. 

Kindy – Year 2 Aquatic Fun Day – The Kindy to Year 2s showcased their skills from the past two weeks of swimming lessons, and we couldn’t be prouder!

Year 9 & 10 IGSSA Badminton Tournament – We had an incredible 36 students represent St Hilda’s with skill and sportsmanship against Santa Maria, PLC, and PC. Our A Teams (St Hilda’s Blue & Yellow) secured 2nd place, showcasing their hard work and determination! Our B Teams also performed admirably, achieving 3rd place! Special shoutout to our C Teams for their efforts, with St Hilda’s Grey finishing 3rd and St Hilda’s White just behind in 4th.

Our talented students sang, danced and entertained on stage.

Dance Choreography Night – The stage at our performing arts centre was set ablaze with creativity, passion, and sheer talent! Our Choreography Dance Night was a mesmerising display of artistry in motion. Every step told a story, and every move was a brushstroke on the canvas of our imagination. 

House-time Rock Concert —This term, we enjoyed an explosion of talent and energy at the house-time rock concert! The air was electric, the stage was set, and the anticipation was palpable as St Hilda’s House-Time Rock Concert took centre stage. The concert was a resounding success, a testament to our students’ incredible spirit and musical prowess. 

Year 9-10 Drama Curriculum Performance – The Year 9 and 10 Drama Curriculum Performance Evening was an opportunity for our talented performers to give our audience a glimpse into what they have been working on in classes throughout the year. The items on show included the Year 10 Drama monologues, Year 9 Drama devised scenes, a short Absurdist play from the Year 10 Drama students and an incredible array of songs from well-known musicals from our Year 9 Musical Theatre students.

Chidley Concert on the Green —The green became a stage for an unforgettable musical extravaganza—the Chidley Concert on the Green. It was an evening where the air was filled with melodies, the sun shone brightly, and the community came together to celebrate the power of music. Thank you to everyone who participated and attended, making the Chidley Concert on the Green a resounding success. Here’s to the joy of music and its magic in our lives!

Year 7 & 8 play performance – In Term 4, we enjoyed an afternoon to remember as our Year 7 and 8 students brought their talents to the stage for a delightful Picnic and play Performance at St Hilda’s. The sun was shining, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the anticipation was palpable as everyone gathered for an afternoon of entertainment and enjoyment.

ELC end-of-year concert – We enjoyed a delightful symphony as the Junior School Early Learning Centre took the stage for its annual concert at St Hilda’s. It was a morning filled with joy, laughter, and the sweet sounds of little voices singing their hearts out.

This term, our girls came together to reflect.

World Teachers Day – We celebrated World Teachers Day by acknowledging the incredible educators at St Hilda’s whose passion, dedication, and care shape the future for every student. Whether it’s sparking a love of learning, guiding personal growth, or building confidence, our teachers inspire extraordinary futures every day.

Chaplain Commissioning – This term, St Hilda’s was graced with a profound and moving ceremony as we gathered to witness Father Philip’s chaplain commissioning. This moment resonated with our community’s deepest values, a time to reflect on the role of spiritual guidance and support within our school.

Remembrance Day – In Term 4, we gathered to honour those who have served our country with courage and sacrifice. The Remembrance Day Assembly and Service were poignant reminders of the debt we owe to the heroes who have fought to protect our freedoms.

Year 11 Reflection Day — In Term 4, our Year 11 girls paused, shared, and learned with a thought-provoking conversation. Year 11 Reflection Day was a moment to look back, cherish the memories, and prepare for the most significant chapter of School yet, Year 12.

Students got outside their comfort zone in Term 4. 

Sea Kayaking Shark Bay – The girls returned from an incredible sea kayaking adventure in Shark Bay this term. The girls laughed, paddled, and marvelled at the marine magic beneath them. Each stroke through the crystal-clear waters was a brushstroke on the canvas of our unforgettable memories. This is just one of the many amazing trips and tours St Hilda’s offers during the school holidays for our students.

Year 6 Yeagarup camp – Embarking on a journey filled with laughter, discovery, and the great outdoors, our Year 6 camp at Yeagarup this term was an experience like no other! The girls’ arrival ignited the spirit of adventure. Each moment was a chance to push their limits and discover strengths they never knew they had. 

Year 5 Yeagarup Camp – Nestled in the heart of nature, our Year 5 Yeagarup Camp was a tapestry of unforgettable moments, laughter, and the sheer joy of discovery. Each day unfolded like a storybook, with activities that sparked the girls’ spirits and challenged their limiting beliefs. 

Fitzroy Wandering Spirit — Our Year 9 Fitzroy students found inspiration in the serene silence and whispering trees at the Fitzroy Wandering Spirit Retreat. This place where spirits soar and dreams take flight encourages our girls to reach for the stars, embrace personal challenges, and unlock their true potential. 

Year 7 Camp — This term, our Year 7 girls embarked on an unforgettable adventure that will be etched in their memories forever. They explored the great outdoors for five days, challenged themselves, and grew as individuals and as a team.

Year 4 campout – A term highlight was a magical experience for our Year 4 students as they camped at our Junior School.

Year 12 Boarders Farewell Dinner – We celebrated and bid farewell to our fantastic Year 12 boarders this term. It was a night full of gratitude, laughter, and excitement for what lies ahead. From late-night study sessions to early morning breakfasts, these shared moments have shaped their boarding experience. They have shown us the true meaning of resilience, friendship, and the pursuit of excellence. They have grown as students and young women ready to take on the world. 

Year 12 Graduation & Awards Ceremony – In Term 4, we honoured and celebrated our incredible Year 12 students. It was a morning to reflect on their journey, acknowledge their achievements, and prepare for the exciting chapter ahead. As the girls gathered, the atmosphere was filled with pride and nostalgia. Our Year 12 students have shown us what it means to persevere, dream big, and support one another every step of the way. The Graduation and Awards Ceremony was a tribute to their hard work, dedication, and the indelible mark they’ve left on our school community. Their accomplishments, from academic successes to cocurricular triumphs, are a testament to their talent and resilience. 

Year 12 Valedictory – As the Year 12s stood on the threshold of a new chapter, we celebrated not just the end of an era but the beginning of a journey that stretched before them, filled with endless possibilities. The Year 12 Valedictory was truly a night to remember. 

Year 6 Graduation – This term, we were filled with emotions as we gathered for the Junior School Year 6 Parents & Daughter Farewell Event at St Hilda’s. It was a bittersweet celebration, marking the end of an era and the beginning of new chapters for our Year 6 students. The event was a beautiful tribute to our girls’ journey since their first day at St Hilda’s. Thank you to all the parents, daughters, and staff who made this event so special. Here’s to the enduring memories and the extraordinary futures that await our Year 6 students in Senior School in 2025.

St Hilda’s Day – In Term 4, we honoured the spirit of St Hilda’s, a beacon of wisdom and courage, as we came together to celebrate St Hilda’s Day. It was a reflective and sacred morning, and we seized the opportunity to recognise the many blessings that have graced us throughout 2024

Year 12 2025 Induction Morning – Our Year 12 2025 Induction Morning was an inspiring start to a new chapter filled with dreams, determination, and the promise of incredible achievements. We were also lucky to hear from Old Scholar Dr Elise Ecker (2013), who gave an inspiring keynote speech that inspired and encouraged our 2025 leaders. 

Year 12 2025 mother-daughter event – This term, we enjoyed a heartwarming celebration as the 2025 Graduating Class gathered for a special Mother-Daughter event at St Hilda’s. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with laughter, love, and the joy of shared moments. As the event came to a close, it was clear that this gathering had strengthened the bonds within our community: the 2025 Graduating Class and their mothers left with hearts full of gratitude and dreams for the future.

Year 7 Zoo Excursions – In Term 4, the Year 7s enjoyed an exciting day as they embarked on an unforgettable excursion to the zoo. The excursion was not just about seeing the animals; it was an educational journey that brought the classroom to life.
