{"id":14908,"date":"2024-12-02T10:54:43","date_gmt":"2024-12-02T02:54:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sthildastg.wpenginepowered.com\/?p=14908"},"modified":"2024-12-03T08:18:08","modified_gmt":"2024-12-03T00:18:08","slug":"a-year-of-giving","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sthildas.wa.edu.au\/zh\/news\/a-year-of-giving\/","title":{"rendered":"A year of giving"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the end of the 2024 school year approaching and Christmas festivities upon us, we spent some time reflecting on how the spirit of giving is a year-long initiative at St Hilda\u2019s.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At St Hilda&#8217;s, we believe rallying together for life-saving foundations, charities, and events fosters the development of deep, meaningful relationships in our School community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year, St Hilda\u2019s raised over $100,000 and donated goods and services to various charities, including:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>$77,000 raised for research into blood cancer &#8211;<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> In June, a record-breaking 79 students and one teacher participated in this year\u2019s World\u2019s Greatest Shave to support the fight against blood cancer. Through initiatives like these, we&#8217;re not just celebrating women&#8217;s achievements; we&#8217;re actively working to create a more inclusive society where every woman has the opportunity to Hospital Foundation to improve the lives of sick children &#8211; <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We are excited to share that the girls doubled last year&#8217;s efforts, with the money raised <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">used to help fund change and help transform kids&#8217; healthcare in WA.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>One-on-one tutoring during a week-long intensive camp with Teach Learn Grow <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8211;<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We had 24 Year 10 girls dedicate their time to tutoring primary school children, submitting curriculum-related lesson plans, preparing breakfast club,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and wrapping presents for<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> \u897f\u6fb3\u5723\u516c\u4f1a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after hours.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Other incredible initiatives St Hilda\u2019s contributed to this year include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">35+ completely stocked school backpacks donated to the Anglicare Christmas Appeal.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$1200 raised for the Royal Flying Doctors Association.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 300 hot meals prepared for Homelessness We Care.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$30,000 donated to Anglicare WA to support homeless youth.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s evident that giving back to the less
