Celebrating Leadership, Growth, and the Journey Ahead of St Hilda’s<\/h1>\n

As the Class of 2025 prepares to farewell St Hilda\u2019s, our Year 12 Prefects have taken a moment to reflect on the memories, lessons and experiences that have shaped their journey. From the excitement of school events and leadership milestones to the quiet moments of friendship and reflection, each captures the heart of what it means to be part of the St Hilda\u2019s community. <\/span><\/p>\n

Their words offer inspiration for those who will follow in their footsteps – a reminder of the strength, spirit and sisterhood that define life at St Hilda\u2019s<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>the biggest lesson you learned this year?<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

That you can do anything and everything you want if you put your mind to it. Even when it feels like your plate is full, you can always fit more in with<\/span>\u202f<\/span>good time<\/span>\u202f<\/span>management.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>It\u2019s<\/span>\u202f<\/span>all about prioritising, staying organised, and backing yourself. The limits you think you have<\/span>\u202f<\/span>are<\/span>\u202f<\/span>often just the ones<\/span>\u202f<\/span>you\u2019ve<\/span>\u202f<\/span>placed on yourself, you just<\/span>\u202f<\/span>have to<\/span>\u202f<\/span>believe that you can pull it off.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What will you miss most about boarding?<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Boarding Prefect, Annie<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What I<\/span>\u202f<\/span>will miss most about boarding is being surrounded by my friends every single day.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>It\u2019s<\/span>\u202f<\/span>the<\/span>\u202f<\/span>little things<\/span>\u202f<\/span>– late-night talks, getting ready together – that made this place feel like home.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>We\u2019ve<\/span>\u202f<\/span>shared everything, and<\/span>\u202f<\/span>there\u2019s<\/span>\u202f<\/span>a comfort in knowing they were always just down the hall. Saying goodbye to that constant connection is something I will miss, but I know the memories and friendships<\/span>\u202f<\/span>we\u2019ve<\/span>\u202f<\/span>made will stay with me long after I leave<\/span>\u202f<\/span>School.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What’s been the most rewarding aspect of your role this year?<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Arts Prefect, Freya<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The most rewarding aspect of my role as Arts Prefect this year would<\/span>\u202f<\/span>definitely be<\/span>\u202f<\/span>seeing Arts Fest come together on the day. Seeing the incredible effort of all the girls come to life on stage and knowing that everyone involved gave it their all was incredibly rewarding to see.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What advice would you give to balance students\u2019 academic programs and cocurricular programs during Senior School?<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Academic Prefect, Hannah<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important to keep doing the activities that you enjoy and that help you recharge, whether that includes sport, music,<\/span>\u202f<\/span>drama<\/span>\u202f<\/span>or any other passion. These activities are more than hobbies, they are essential breaks that help you manage stress,<\/span>\u202f<\/span>maintain<\/span>\u202f<\/span>motivation<\/span>\u202f<\/span>and avoid burnout, especially when tackling the intense Year 12 workload.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What will you miss most about St Hilda\u2019s?<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u202f<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Spirit Prefect, Claudia<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After being at St Hilda\u2019s for nine years, this<\/span>\u202f<\/span>community has become such an important and familiar part of my life. I will miss being part of IGSSA, especially the Swimming, Cross<\/span>\u202f<\/span>Country<\/span>\u202f<\/span>and Athletics teams, as I have cherished so many memories of fun times at trainings and carnivals. These teams have allowed me to create so many long-lasting friendships with girls across all years who I<\/span>\u202f<\/span>probably would<\/span>\u202f<\/span>not have got to know well if we<\/span>\u202f<\/span>weren\u2019t<\/span>\u202f<\/span>in a team together.<\/span>\u202f<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What advice would you give your younger self on your first day at St Hilda\u2019s?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sports Prefect, Grace<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Be yourself, the sooner you start saying what you think and doing the things you love, the sooner<\/span>\u202f<\/span>you’ll<\/span>\u202f<\/span>attract the people you want to be around. Have fun, these early years are all about building connections and enjoying yourself. Try everything, enrolling in every cocurricular you can imagine, sport, music, arts, community service. These experiences will shape who you will become and introduce you to people<\/span>\u202f<\/span>who’ll<\/span>\u202f<\/span>become lifelong friends.<\/span><\/p>\n
