Her poem, Tall Trees, shares the theme of distant war which could not be more relevant today.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Tall Trees, mist and the river beyond:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Stars in the sky and alight<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Winking &#8216;neath fir trees\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Make night.<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Peace &#8211; and the silence around,\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Quiet &#8211; and, unmindful of war,<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Day sleeps, lulled by a song of the wind\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><br \/>\n<em>And echo of ocean&#8217;s roar.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Two current St Hilda\u2019s students, Bridie Moulds (Year 12 ) and Jenny Yuan (Year 10) have composed a piece of music to these lyrics and our Chamber String Ensemble and Whitby and Senior Chorales have recorded the piece.
