Celebrating an Extraordinary Term 3 at St Hilda’s 

As Term 3 draws to a close, we reflect on a Term filled with community, creativity, achievement, and unforgettable memories. From the athletics track to the theatre stage, from classrooms to campsites, our students have embraced every opportunity with energy and excellence. 

Community Moments to Treasure

NAIDOC Week – Both schools enjoyed a week of cultural learning and celebration, with themed dinners, Indigenous bracelet-making, and arts and crafts that honoured the rich traditions of Indigenous culture. 

100 Days of School – A milestone moment for our Pre-Primary students as they marked 100 days of their St Hilda’s educational journey. 

National Science Week – Students across our Senior School participated in Science experiments, quizzes, and activities, with our Year 12 students competing in the annual Chemistry Titration competition. 

Book Week – Guest authors and illustrators joined us to give workshops on book creation, inspiring our Junior School girls. Students also lit up the Book Week Parade with spectacular costumes, bringing their favourite stories to life. 

2026 Senior Leadership Group – We proudly announced our new Year 11 leadership team, ready to step into their roles next year. 

 

Creating Everlasting Family Memories 

Father-Daughter Dinner DanceOur Year 12 students enjoyed a special evening with their father figures. The night was a celebration of elegance, honouring love, family, and tradition. 

Father’s Day Breakfast – Our Junior School fathers joined us for a joyful morning of pastries, games, and crafts, making treasured memories with their daughters. 

Grandparents’ Day – A heartwarming day where Junior School grandparents enjoyed student musical performances and joined in arts and crafts with their grandchildren. 

OSA Ammonite Pin Presentation – 39 students received their lapel pins, honouring the multi-generational traditions of our Old Scholars Association. 

Academic Achievements 

WADL Debating Champions – Both our Junior and Novice teams claimed victory, bringing home two trophies in the Western Australian Debating League. 

PECAN+ National Cybersecurity Success – Congratulations to Amarni, Aaralen, and Rani for placing 1st among all-girls teams nationwide and 48th overall in the PECAN+ Capture the Flag competition.

Tournament of Minds FinalistsSix Junior School students reached the WA State Finals of the Tournament of Minds competition in the Social Science category – congratulations, Tessa, Josie, Aria, Aurora, Cathie and Carla!

A Celebration of the Arts 

Concerto Night – 12 of our top Senior School musicians captivated the audience with harmonious solo performances of remarkable skill in our Annual Concerto Night. 

The Amazing Adventures of SuperStan – Our Year 6 students dazzled us with a fun-filled musical of dancing, acting, and singing. 

Music on the Move – An extraordinary night of performances across three venues, showcasing the breadth of our musical talent. 

Chidley Performance Festival – Over 180 Junior School students wowed us at the 4th annual festival, performing across a variety of instruments. 

IGSSA Dance Festival – Our Senior Dance Team lit up the stage with a lyrical tribute and a high-energy hip-hop piece – raising the bar year on year! 

 

Adventures Beyond the Classroom 

Wooleen Camp – Year 10 students immersed themselves in outdoor learning, cultural history, and conservation while discovering more about themselves. 

Wandering Spirit – Our Year 9 Fitzroy and Gascoyne students returned from their Wandering Spirit trips with stories of independence, connection, and personal growth after their wilderness journeys. 

Sporting Highlights 

Kindy–Year 2 Fun Athletics Day – Our youngest students had a joyful day of running, jumping, and sporting fun, showcasing what they’ve learnt in PE lessons to friends and family. 

JIGSSA Cross Country – Junior athletes ran with determination and team spirit, attaining outstanding results. With Year 3 as pennant winners and Year 4 and Year 5 achieving 2nd Overall. 

IGSSA Golf Competition – Three teams represented St Hilda’s with distinction, with two teams tying for 1st place at the 9-Hole Ambrose Competition. 

IGSSA Athletics Carnival – Our Senior School athletes from Years 7-12 shone at the WA Athletics Stadium, achieving overall results of 3rd in Track, 3rd in Field, and 3rd Overall School. 

Interhouse Athletics (Y3–6) – Our Junior School students showcased their athletic skills and house spirit in friendly competition in the annual Interhouse Athletics Carnival. 

A Term to Remember  

From remarkable performances to academic victories and sporting triumphs, Term 3 has truly been a celebration of the spirit, talent, and determination of our St Hilda’s community. We are so proud of every student for their contributions, achievements, and the joy they bring to School life.
