Cocurricular

At St Hilda’s Junior School, cocurricular opportunities are an extension of the learning day. Designed to nurture curiosity, confidence and connection, they provide our girls with the chance to explore their interests, try something new, and discover what they love.

With a wide range of options available before and after school, our program spans Sport, Music, creative and performing arts, languages, wellbeing, and hands on learning experiences. From robotics and gardening to dance, drama, and team sports, there is something to engage every girl’s interests and energy.

Importantly, these opportunities are designed with Junior School girls in mind. They are age appropriate, inclusive, and focused on participation, enjoyment and growth. Whether your daughter is building confidence through performance, developing teamwork on the field, or finding a quiet moment of calm and reflection, each experience supports her overall development.

Many activities are delivered by our specialist staff, alongside carefully selected external providers, ensuring both quality and variety across the program. As offerings evolve throughout the year, families are encouraged to explore the current term’s opportunities and find the right fit for their daughter.

Through cocurricular involvement, our girls build friendships, develop new skills, and begin to understand their strengths, all within a supportive environment where they feel encouraged to have a go.

Sport

Junior School sport fosters fitness, strength, coordination, flexibility, and agility while building game skills and knowledge. Students engage in diverse recreational, team, and competitive sports, developing confidence, resilience, and teamwork. These programs create a strong sense of belonging and community, connecting girls across year levels.

As a member of JIGSSA (Junior Independent Girls’ Schools’ Sports Association of WA), St Hilda’s upper primary students compete in various interschool carnivals.

Carefully selected for their quality and alignment with our values, these programs complement our internal offerings while providing engaging, age appropriate experiences that support each girl’s growth and confidence.
