Chapel of St Hilda of Whitby

Located at our picturesque Bay View campus, the Chapel stands as a welcoming sanctuary at the very heart of our school community. Open each day throughout term time, it offers a peaceful haven for prayer, quiet reflection, or simply a moment’s pause amid the bustle of campus life.

As an Anglican school, we hold regular services tailored to all age groups, from our youngest learners through to our senior students. These gatherings provide a rhythm of worship and fellowship that enriches both individual faith journeys and our collective sense of belonging. The Chapel also hosts the full range of sacramental rites: baptism, marriage, first communion, confirmation, and funerals. Members of the broader community are warmly invited to enquire about these services, whether planning a joyous celebration or seeking comfort and support during times of loss.

For many Old Scholars, the Chapel holds treasured memories: reunions often begin here, as former students gather to give thanks, renew friendships, and reflect on shared experiences. In moments of bereavement, it becomes the focal point for collective prayer, consolation, and the enduring bond that unites past and present members of our school family. We invite you to discover this sacred space for yourself—where every gathering, large or small, is an expression of our commitment to faith, fellowship, and compassion.
