A Second Home. A World of Opportunity.

Since 1906, boarding has been an integral part of life at St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls. Today, our private boarding school for girls from Years 7 to 12 continues to offer a vibrant and supportive environment where your daughter will be known, nurtured and inspired. Located in the heart of our Senior School campus in Mosman Park, it provides the perfect balance of structure, independence and connection, creating a true home away from home for girls from regional WA, interstate and overseas.

With a strong focus on academic support, wellbeing and personal growth, boarding at St Hilda’s helps girls build confidence, resilience and lifelong friendships. From shared experiences and leadership opportunities to cocurricular involvement and community service, our boarders are encouraged to make the most of every moment. Surrounded by caring staff, a diverse group of peers and the comforts of modern facilities, your daughter will be supported to thrive in school and beyond as part of our warm and close-knit boarding family.

With opportunities to explore, grow and lead, our boarders are empowered to build extraordinary futures.

Wellbeing

Your daughter’s wellbeing, growth and happiness are at the heart of everything we do. Our experienced and caring boarding team ensures she feels safe, supported and inspired to thrive.

The Dean of Boarding lives on-site and is available to your daughter around the clock, creating a strong and responsive presence at the heart of the Boarding House. Supporting her are a team of dedicated supervisors, ‘house mums’ and wellbeing staff who work in close partnership with families to ensure a seamless transition and a consistent experience throughout her time at St Hilda’s.

Each staff member is carefully chosen for their ability to connect with young people, offer compassionate guidance, and foster a warm, inclusive culture grounded in mutual respect. From daily routines to moments of challenge, your daughter will always have someone she trusts by her side.

We also have experienced nurses located within the Boarding House and strong links to our School’s pastoral care team, including psychologists, chaplains and the Dean of Wellbeing. Together, they form a holistic support network committed to helping your daughter flourish, both personally and academically

Our family has had the privilege of having both our daughters board at St Hilda’s. Sending children off to boarding school is a major decision for regional and remote families. St Hilda’s boarding facility is outstanding and beautifully represents a warm and friendly home environment.

The bond created between boarders, their wonderful housemothers and ‘sisters’ is truly something to be treasured. We have watched our daughters grow into well-balanced, independent, thoughtful young ladies, and for that, we are truly grateful.

The Boarding House

The modern Boarding House includes, open living spaces, ‘end of journey’ facilities and family space. An indoor gym, cooking facilities, break-out spaces, lounge rooms and a soundproof music room are just some of the design features that provide our boarding girls with a comfortable and practical living environment that reflects the everyday feel of home life.

Developing Life Skills and Independence

At St Hilda’s, your daughter’s growth extends well beyond the classroom. Our boarding program is designed to help her develop the skills and independence she’ll need to thrive now and into the future.

Boarders are encouraged to participate in a range of extension and enrichment programs that build capability, confidence, and character. From earning her Surf Lifesaving certificate to becoming a qualified barista or completing a Senior First Aid or Keys4Life course, your daughter will gain real-world skills that are both purposeful and empowering.

Our girls are also active participants in the wider community. High participation in community sport and recreation reflects our holistic philosophy. Many boarders choose to volunteer, coach junior teams, or lead initiatives across school and local programs, fostering a sense of contribution, leadership and service.

One Community. Lifelong Connections.

Within the Boarding House, connections run deep. Your daughter won’t just make friends, she’ll gain sisters. The bonds forged here go far beyond the school gates, creating a network of trust, empathy and shared experience that lasts a lifetime.

From shared meals and late-night chats to weekend adventures and everyday routines, boarders at St Hilda’s live and grow together in a spirit of mutual respect. The sense of sisterhood is strong, and it’s not just felt among the girls; it extends to their families, creating a welcoming, connected community that embraces parents and caregivers as part of the St Hilda’s family.

This unique atmosphere, known affectionately as the ‘Spirit of St Hilda’s’, brings together boarders, staff, and families into one vibrant community where everyone belongs.
