Little Wanderers

Where the Journey Begins

The foundations of the Wandering Spirit journey begin much earlier through our Year 3 Little Wanderers program.

Designed as an outdoor learning experience, Little Wanderers introduces your daughter to the themes of connection, belonging and personal growth in ways that are meaningful and age appropriate for younger girls.

Across this two day program, our girls explore respectful community values, teamwork, leadership and resilience through engaging activities, reflection and shared experiences.

A unique feature of the program is the collaboration with Year 9 girls participating in the Wandering Spirit program. This mentorship experience strengthens connection across year levels and helps younger girls feel supported within the wider St Hilda’s community.

Building Friendship, Confidence and Belonging

Year 3 is an important stage in social development as friendships begin to grow in complexity.

Little Wanderers helps your daughter develop practical skills to navigate friendships with kindness, empathy and confidence. She learns that relationships can look different, and that inclusion, communication and respect are essential in building healthy connections.

Through activities such as journalling, gratitude practices, teamwork challenges and writing a letter to her future self, your daughter begins developing the self awareness and emotional skills that will continue to grow throughout her years at St Hilda’s.

A Connected Journey of Growth

Little Wanderers forms the early foundation of a connected journey that continues through the Year 9 Wandering Spirit program.

Together, these experiences support your daughter as she grows from learning how to build healthy friendships in Junior School to developing resilience, leadership and self understanding in Senior School.

This intentional journey reflects St Hilda’s commitment to nurturing the whole person, helping every girl feel grounded, connected and ready to embrace the extraordinary future ahead.

Why Year 3 Matters

Research shows that around Year 3, friendships become increasingly influential in a child’s social and emotional development.

Little Wanderers gives your daughter the tools to approach friendships with confidence, kindness and understanding, laying strong foundations for wellbeing, belonging and connection.Â
