A Record-Breaking Year for the World’s Greatest Shave at St Hilda’s
This week, St Hilda’s once again demonstrated the power of community spirit with our record-breaking participation in the World’s Greatest Shave. An incredible 92 Year 12 students and one teacher participated in the event, choosing to cut, shave, or colour their hair in support of the Leukaemia Foundation. Through their bravery and commitment, we raised a staggering $117, 333 so far, an achievement that has left us incredibly proud.
Why We Shave: Raising Awareness for Blood Cancer
Blood cancer affects 140,000 households across Australia, and sadly, 16 Australians lose their lives to it every day. Every dollar raised helps provide emotional and practical support to families coping with blood cancer and funds vital research aiming to eliminate blood cancer-related deaths by 2035.
A School Community United for a Cause
At St Hilda’s, we believe that coming together for such vital causes significantly impacts and strengthens the bonds within our school community. The outpouring of support, from donations to words of encouragement, was heartwarming.
Thank You for Making a Difference
Thank you to all our students, staff, parents, Old Scholars, and friends who helped us raise awareness and funds. Your generosity and dedication make a real difference in the fight against blood cancer. We are grateful for your support in making this year’s World’s Greatest Shave a success.
