A Term of Leadership, Community 和 Success

With the 2025 year coming to an end at St Hilda’s, we take a moment to celebrate the milestones that shape and define our 社区From academic excellence and artistic innovation to sporting victories and charitable contributions, this Term has been a testament to the values and spirit that make St Hilda’s exceptional. 

Celebrations and Milestones 

  • 5 Star School – St Hildas was awarded and named one of The Educator’s 5-Star Best Schools in Australia, one of only two schools in WA.  
  • Ignite Program AwardsYear 5 students achieved Level One in the leadership-focused Ignite Award Program, developed in partnership with Scotch College. 
  • Sports Awards Assembly We honoured students who have excelled in 24 or 30 IGSSA sports and represented at state and national levels. 
  • Year 12 Induction Our Year 11 cohort officially stepped into Year 12 during a special ceremony, marking an exciting new start to their final chapter. 
  • Year 6 Graduation  We celebrated the end of the Year 6s journey at the Junior School and look to their future ahead at the Senior School campus.

Education Without Boundaries 

  • French Study Tour Students embarked on a two-week adventure across France, exploring Parisian landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, and experiencing the beauty of the French Alps. 
  • Year 11 USA Trip – The 13-day educational tour took students through Orlando, Washington D.C. and New York City offering STEM and Commerce-focused experiences, including a three-day NASA Space Camp, a visit to the United Nations and activities at the Wall Street Stock Exchange. 
  • Outdoor Education CampsYear 5–7 students embraced high ropes, hiking and cultural sessions at our Yeagarup Campus, while Year 4 students enjoyed their first taste of outdoor education at the Senior School. 
  • Wandering Spirit Retreat – Year 9 Gascoyne students unplugged from technology to explore identity, resilience and respectful relationships through journaling, shared meals and meaningful discussions at our Yeagarup Campus. 

 

Breaking Records and Building Champions 

  • IGSSA Tennis Year 7-12 St Hilda’s was crowned Overall Tennis Champion School, with 11 medal placements and six teams securing first place. 
  • JIGSSA Athletics Year 5 and 6 placed second overall, with students breaking track and field records. Congratulations to Isabella (60m Hurdles), Aria (Shot Put), Matilda (100m Sprint) and the Year 5 relay team, Maeve, Mia, Evia and Matilda. 
  • Swimming Fun Kindy–Year 2 students enjoyed swim lessons for two weeks with WaterWise then showcased their skills to parents and staff at the Aqua Fun Day. 
  • Open Water Swim Championships Senior School students made a splash at Cottesloe beach earning five gold, one silver and five bronze medals against 540 Swimmers and 40 schools. 

Academic Brilliance in Action 

  • ICAS Writing Medal – Celeste (Year 7) achieved 1st place in ICAS writing and grade level across the entire state of Western Australia!  
  • Entrepreneurial Success – Year 10 students Lucy and Isobel were named WA state finalists in the Teams Category of the BEA Plan Your Own Enterprise (PYOE) Competition, with their plan advancing to national judging. With Adelaide and Indiana also awarded with an Encouragement Award for their innovative business proposals.  
  • Artistic Recognition –Three Year 12 artwork pieces were selected for the WA Pulse Exhibition at the Art Gallery of WA. Congratulations to Lauren, Mimi and Bridget!  
  • Visual Storytelling Awards – Lucy (Year 3) and Vivienne (Year 4) won first place in their age categories at the Alliance Française Visual Storytelling Competition.  
  • WA State Squad for Debating Team Selection – Dulcie, Elly (Year 10) and Elina (Year 8) have been selected to join the WA State Squad for Debating after their exceptional performance at the WADL Schools Finale. They are 3 of 16 selected students across WA and the only all-girls private school to be chosen! 

The Power of Community Spirit 

  • Junior School Fundraising – JK to Year 6 students raised over $16,000 for Ronald McDonald House through their Lapathon. 
  • St Hilda’s Day Senior School students gathered at St George’s Cathedral and Junior School at our Chapel of St Hilda of Whitby to honour our heritage through music and reflection. 
  • Year 12 Graduation We farewelled our graduating Class of 2025 with end of year celebrations and awards. 
  • P&F Gala – We enjoyed a wonderful evening with our parent community and launched our new Strategic Plan: Sparking Extraordinary Futures (2025 and beyond). 
  • Year 11 Mother-Daughter Dance – Our Year 11 students and mother figures took to the dance floor at the Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club creating precious memories and celebrating their special bond. 
  • Grandparents Day  We marked a well anticipated event in the calendar, welcoming our Senior School Grandparents to our campus to enjoy a morning of performances and connection. 
  • Community Service Day  our Senior School students put on a fantastic market of stalls for the Junior School students to enjoy to raise money for charity. 

   

Runways, Galleries, Garden Stages and Christmas Magic 

  • Senior School Fashion Parade ‘Once Upon A Runway’ showcased the creativity and craftsmanship of our Materials Design and Technology students from Years 9-12. 
  • JK–Year 11 Art Exhibition From self-portraits to skateboard designs, our annual art exhibition celebrated the vibrant artistic talent across both Schools. 
  • Alice@Wonderland Production  Year 7 and 8 students brought a tech-infused twist to Lewis Carroll’s classic in a lively outdoor performance in our Jessie Rutter Gardens. 
  • Christmas Concerts – To mark the start of the season, our Music department put on a wonderful variety of Christmas concerts and carols throughout the last week of Term to get us in the Holiday Spirit!  

  

This year, our students have embraced challenges, supported one another, and demonstrated the values that make our School so special. As we look ahead to a new year, we thank our dedicated staff, families, and students for their hard work and commitment. Here’s to continuing this journey of excellence and inspiration together in 2026.
