Perth Girls School Selection Factors Beyond Location
With a storied 127-year history and reputation as a leading Perth girls’ school, St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls empowers students to thrive academically while developing strength of character. As you explore options for your daughter’s education, you naturally consider the location and facilities of schools in desirable neighbourhoods. St Hilda’s is nestled in the quiet, leafy suburb of Mosman Park and offers an idyllic campus and convenient location.
While our location offers central convenience and an outstanding campus, our student experiences look beyond academic metrics and geography. We develop confident, open-hearted graduates ready to live with wisdom, integrity, and compassion. Furthermore, we’ve established a close-knit community of students, families, alumni, and staff to encourage leadership, service, and empathy.
Picturesque Mosman Park Campus
St Hilda’s Junior School boasts a stunning 3-hectare campus on the coast of the Swan River in Mosman Park, while the Senior School is a few turns up the river by Freshwater Bay. Each campus is blessed with picturesque scenery and offers a range of modern learning facilities, ESSTEAM studio, dance studio, state-of-the-art science laboratories, a 900 seat performing arts centre, library, a swimming pool, and other sporting facilities.
Additionally, our Perth girls’ school provides solutions for an extensive arts program encompassing visual arts, choral and instrumental music, dance, photography, and drama. Such cutting-edge provisions spring from our commitment to relevant, inspiring learning environments.
The Yeagarup Campus
As outdoor learning is one of the cornerstones of our cocurricular programs at St Hilda’s, from Year 5 upwards, cohorts attend outdoor education experiences at our Yeagarup campus in Pemberton. Situated 3.5 hours south of Perth, the Yeagarup Campus features both chalet and dormitory style accommodation for up to 120 students and provides a unique outdoor education experience allowing students to learn more about themselves and their connections with others.
Convenience of a Central Perth Girls School
Whether you side with the North or South of the river, our Perth girls’ school is easy to access via Stirling and Canning Highway. Based just 10km southwest of Perth’s CBD in Mosman Park, St Hilda’s location puts the city’s premier amenities and attractions within easy reach as well. Families also appreciate the proximity and walkability of cosmopolitan cafes and shops in nearby suburbs. With boarding facilities on campus, regional students have access to St Hilda’s exceptional education too.
Route to School Made Simple
Given most students don’t live within walking distance, St Hilda’s provides private bus services for our students living in the City and Subiaco, Coogee, West Leederville, Nedlands, Western and Southern Suburbs. This now includes a private Karrinyup bus service, catering for families living in the northern suburbs. Students can also readily access public transport to make their route to and from school all the more efficient. Transperth train lines allow students to catch the Fremantle line train at the Mosman Park station.
Perth Girls School Academic Excellence and Opportunity
As a leading Perth girls’ school, we meet each girl at her level and support growth. Our broad, flexible curriculum options accommodate varied paces and talents with core and extension subjects, vocational courses, and university pathways. Teachers personalise academic mentoring, leading to consistently outstanding ATAR results and post-school success in diverse fields. The ESSTEAM™ Program introduces and fosters entrepreneurship skills and pathways for young women to engage and solve real-life problems in a compulsory program from Years 5 – 10.
In addition to academic focus, St Hilda’s offers a global student exchange program and a range of cocurricular activities, providing students with opportunities to explore their passions and develop their talents. These activities include traditional and contemporary sports, music, art, drama, public speaking programs, and cocurricular clubs and committees.
The cocurricular programs at St Hilda’s are designed to ignite, enhance, and spark a thirst for knowledge, providing opportunities for students to engage with the world beyond the classroom.
Beyond Location and Academics
Leading Perth girls’ schools develop more than academics – they nurture character. Our diverse, values-based community pushes students to look beyond themselves, developing empathy and resilience. Our Culture of Care is a multi-dimensional approach to wellbeing. A framework that supports students, staff and parents.
At the heart of a St Hilda’s education are qualities that you will find throughout the school in all interactions. Our staff lead by example and instill these values in our students.
The school’s motto is a Latin saying, Domine dirige nos: Lord direct us. The founders of St Hilda’s have ensured that we remain conscious of the faith that led them to establish a place of education for young women.
Today we can be pleased with the direction the school has taken and the many continuing successes we enjoy, and we reflect on our religious roots in chapel services throughout the year and in our Belonging classes.
St Hilda’s looks beyond outward success to nurture young women ready to enrich the world through their character and service. Our students explore their passions – in the arts, on the stage or sports field, through leadership and beyond. They learn to uphold our values of excellence, authenticity, belonging, and imagination in their future lives and vocations.
We encourage girls to challenge limits, using their passions to create positive change.
